The award scheme is an annual award ceremony with the primary objective of recognizing the contributions of Nigerian and African Entertainers.

Rapper Sarkodie and Afro-Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy have been nominated for the "Best Africa Male Artiste" category.

They will be competing with Sauti Sol, Cassper Nyovest, Diamond Platnumz, Eddie Kenzo, Nasty C and Toofan for the prestigious award.

In the "Best Africa Female Artiste" category, One Nation and Starboy Entertainment label act Efya and Zylofon Music newly signed act Becca were nominated.

The will also be competing with Amanda Black and Victoria Kimani for the ladies spot.
